About Me
Hi! I'm currently a postdoc in Dr. Edna Cukierman's laboratory at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. There, my project focuses on understanding the signaling that arises from cell-cell interactions in the pancreatic tumor microenvironment.
Outside of research, I love teaching, mentoring, science communication, and fostering inclusive spaces in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). To that end, I'm an instructor in the Teen Research Internship Program (TRIP) Initiative through Fox Chase, have been a program organizer and am now on the Leadership Team for the Communicating Science Conference (ComSciCon), promote and illustrate the myriad of diverse scientists that exists, and create science comics to increase science exposure, access, and literacy through JKX Comics, a group I co-founded in 2015. For fun, I enjoy playing frisbee, running, reading (non-fiction fantasy novels or comics), making puns, doing any craft involving yarn, and playing with my bunnies Maxwell and Beatrice. Feel free to ask me about any of these endeavors! Twitter | @jayeperview Instagram | @jayeperview (art) @ajayeinthelife (personal) |
