Comics are a large and important part of my life, as both a scientist and science communicator. In presentations, comics and illustrations allow me to distill the central tenant of my research and communicate more effectively. In print, comics become a more inviting way to engage a non-scientific audience with research. Most importantly, comics allow readers to see the myriad of people behind the science; and representation matters.
